Nakhchivan

Nakhchivan is the capital and largest city of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, a true exclave of Azerbaijan located about 450 kilometers west of Baku. The municipality includes the city itself along with the settlement of Aliabad and several surrounding villages, and it sits in the foothills of the Zangezur Mountains on the right bank of the Nakhchivan River at an altitude of 873 meters above sea level.
