Baiyin

Baiyin is a prefecture-level city in northeastern Gansu province, China, about 60 kilometers from the provincial capital Lanzhou, part of the Lanzhou-Baiyin Economic Belt. It was established in the 1950s as a base for mining non-ferrous metals, and in recent decades its exhausting mines have pushed the city to reinvent its economy.
