Beihai

Beihai is a prefecture-level city in the south of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, in the People's Republic of China. It sits on the north shore of the Gulf of Tonkin, and its seaport has made it a historically important point of international trade linking several inland provinces to the sea. The city also administers a number of small islands. The 2010 census recorded a population of about 1,539,300, and city figures put the population at roughly 1.917 million by the end of 2024. Beihai covers about 3,337 square kilometers, is seated at Haicheng District, and as of 2022 was divided into three districts and one county.
