Changde

Changde is a prefecture-level city in northwest Hunan province, China, on the west side of Dongting Lake at the foot of Wuling Mountain. Known historically as Wuling, it has long been called the throat of Sichuan and Guizhou and the gateway to Yunnan and Guizhou. Besides its urban districts, Changde administers the county-level city of Jinshi and six counties, and borders Dongting Lake to the east, the city of Yiyang to the south, the Wuling and Xuefeng Mountains to the west, and Hubei province to the north.
