Chengde, formerly known as Jehol and Rehe, is a prefecture-level city in Hebei province, China, about 225 kilometers northeast of Beijing. It is best known as the site of the Mountain Resort, a vast imperial garden and palace complex used by Qing dynasty emperors as a summer residence. The city's resident population was approximately 3.29 million at the end of 2024.
