Heyuan

Heyuan is a prefecture-level city in the northeastern part of Guangdong Province, China, situated at the confluence of the Dong and Xinfeng rivers. It had a population of about 2.84 million at the 2020 census, with roughly 1.05 million living in its built-up metropolitan area. The city is known as the hometown of the dinosaur in China for its extensive paleontological finds, and its museum holds a Guinness World Record for the largest collection of dinosaur eggs, with 10,008 individual specimens recorded as of 2004. It also serves as a regional transport and economic link connecting coastal Guangdong with the interior of China, with major railway and waterway routes passing through it.
