Jiamusi is a prefecture-level city in eastern Heilongjiang province in northeastern China, on the middle and lower reaches of the Songhua River, facing the Russian region of Khabarovsk Krai across the Ussuri and Heilongjiang rivers. Its population was 2,156,505 at the 2020 census, with about 862,555 people in its built-up urban districts, and by the end of 2024 its total registered population stood at 2.213 million.
