Jining

Jining is a prefecture-level city in southwestern Shandong province, China, with a population of 8,081,905 at the 2010 census across an area of 11,187 square kilometers. Located north of Lake Nanyang on the Grand Canal, it is the canal's northernmost point still reachable by navigation, and it is known as the traditional hometown of Confucius and Mencius.
