Longyan

Longyan is a prefecture-level city in southwestern Fujian Province, China, bordering Guangdong to the south and Jiangxi to the west. The present-day city was established in 1981, though the wider area administrative history traces to the Tang dynasty prefecture of Tingzhou, founded in 736 AD. As of the 2020 census the prefecture-level city had a population of about 2,723,627 across roughly 19,069 square kilometers.
