Sanmenxia

Sanmenxia is a prefecture-level city in western Henan Province, China, the westernmost prefecture-level city in the province. It sits on the southern bank of the Yellow River where the river cuts through the Loess Plateau on its way to the North China Plain, bordering Shaanxi Province to the west and Shanxi Province to the north, with Luoyang to its east and Nanyang to its southeast.
