Tongren is a prefecture-level city in eastern Guizhou province in the People's Republic of China, situated within a tobacco-growing and agricultural region. It was known as Tongren Prefecture until November 2011, when it was converted into a prefecture-level city. By the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, Tongren had a permanent population of 3.1615 million and a registered population of 4.494 million.
