A coastal prefecture-level city on the Shandong Peninsula in China, formerly known as Chefoo, on the southern coast of the Bohai Strait between Qingdao to the southwest and Weihai to the east, with access to both the Bohai and Yellow seas. It is the largest fishing seaport in Shandong province, and its 2020 census recorded a population of 7,102,116, with 3,184,299 living in its built-up urban districts of Zhifu, Laishan, Fushan, Muping and Penglai.
