Yongzhou

Yongzhou is a prefecture-level city in the south of Hunan province, China, along the Xiang River, which forms where the Xiao and Xiang Rivers converge. It borders Guangdong province to the southeast and Guangxi to the southwest. With roots extending back two millennia, Yongzhou is counted among Hunan's four ancient counties. Its 2020 census recorded a permanent population of more than 5.2 million across an area of about 22,255 square kilometers, with its urban core of two districts holding roughly 1.1 million people.
