Zhoukou is a prefecture-level city in eastern Henan province, China, bordering Zhumadian to the southwest, Xuchang and Luohe to the west, Kaifeng to the northwest, Shangqiu to the northeast, and Anhui province on its other sides. Its population was 9,026,015 at the 2020 census, with roughly 1.6 million living in the built-up area formed by Chuanhui district and the northern part of Shangshui county as of a 2018 estimate.
