Aligarh

Aligarh is a city in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India, serving as the administrative headquarters of Aligarh district. It lies about 342 kilometers northwest of the state capital Lucknow and roughly 130 kilometers southeast of New Delhi. The city borders the districts of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Sambhal, Badaun, Kasganj, Hathras and Etah, as well as Mathura, and also borders Palwal district in the neighboring state of Haryana. As of the 2011 census, Aligarh was the 53rd most populous city in India.
