Gandhidham is a city in the eastern part of Kutch district in the Indian state of Gujarat, and the largest and most populous city in Kutch District. It was created in the early 1950s for the resettlement of Sindhi Hindu refugees from Sindh, Pakistan, following the partition of India, and was named after Mahatma Gandhi; according to the 2011 census it is Gujarat's eighth most populous city.
