Gangtok

Gangtok is the capital and most populous city of the Indian state of Sikkim, set in the Eastern Himalayan range at an elevation of about 1,650 metres. It became the Sikkimese capital in 1894 when the Chogyal transferred the seat of government there from Tumlong, and its roughly 100,000 residents are drawn from Sikkim's three main ethnicities, the Bhutias, Lepchas and Indian Gorkhas. The city is also home to the Sikkim High Court and is a major center of the state's tourism industry.
