Kohima

Kohima is the capital of the Indian state of Nagaland, established in 1879 and made state capital when Nagaland was inaugurated in 1963. The 2011 census recorded a population of 99,039, making it the second largest city in the state, in a population that is predominantly Christian. Kohima was also the site of a major 1944 Second World War battle, sometimes called the Stalingrad of the East.
