Port Blair

Port Blair, officially renamed Sri Vijaya Puram in September 2024, is the capital of the Indian union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, on South Andaman Island between the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. Its 2011 census population within the original municipal limits was 108,058, rising to 140,572 after a 2015 boundary expansion. The city hosts the Veer Savarkar International Airport and serves as headquarters of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, the only integrated tri-service command of the Indian Armed Forces.
