Tanjungpandan is a town in Indonesia, the capital of Belitung Regency on the island of Belitung in Bangka Belitung Islands province. Founded on July 1, 1838, it is the largest town on Belitung, with 103,062 residents at the 2020 census across 378.45 square kilometers, and its population is made up mainly of Belitung Malays and Hakka Chinese. The town is home to the Laskar Pelangi Port terminal, named for Andrea Hirata's novel and film, and to attractions including Tanjung Pendam Beach and the Museum and Zoo Tanjungpandan, which covers the region's colonial history and wildlife.
