Tiakur

Tiakur is the regency seat of Southwest Maluku Regency in Maluku, Indonesia, purpose-built as the capital after the regency was created in 2008 amid disputes over whether the seat should sit on Moa Island, where Tiakur now stands, or on Kisar Island. The administration relocated there in 2012, even though Tiakur remains smaller and less developed than Wonreli, the larger town on Kisar Island. Covering just 3.50 square kilometers, it is the smallest administrative village by land area in Moa District, with a 2022 population of 4,227.
