Modi'in Illit, meaning Upper Modi'in in Hebrew, is a Haredi Jewish-Israeli settlement organized as a city council in the West Bank, situated midway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and was granted city status in 2008. It was built on land formerly belonging to five Palestinian villages and includes the neighborhoods of Kiryat Sefer, established in 1994, and Achuzat Brachfeld, making it the largest Jewish settlement in the West Bank. Its 2024 population was 89,627.
