Petah Tikva

Petah Tikva is a city in the Central District of Israel, about 10.6 kilometers east of Tel Aviv, within the Gush Dan metropolitan area. It was founded in 1878, mainly by Haredi Jews of the Old Yishuv, and became a permanent settlement in 1883 with financial help from Edmond Rothschild. As of 2024 the city had a population of 270,403, making it the fourth-largest city in Israel, with a population density of about 6,277 inhabitants per square kilometer across a municipal jurisdiction of roughly 35.9 square kilometers.
