Amagasaki

Amagasaki is an industrial city in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, in the Kansai region immediately adjacent to Osaka. As of November 2022 it had about 455,555 residents over roughly 51 square kilometers, one of the highest population densities in the prefecture, and it ranks fourth in prefecture population behind Kobe, Himeji and Nishinomiya. It grew from a town established in 1889 into a core part of the Hanshin Industrial Region, reaching city status in 1916 and core city designation in 2009.
