Hamamatsu

Hamamatsu is a city in western Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. As of September 2023 it had an estimated population of 780,128 in 340,591 households, making it the prefecture largest city, with a population density of 500 people per square kilometer over a total urban area of 1,558.06 square kilometers. It ranked first in Japan's government-designated cities happiness index, published by the Japan Research Institute, in both 2018 and 2022.
