The Hitachi Kokufu was the provincial capital of Hitachi Province from the late Nara period through the Heian period, located in the Soja neighborhood of the city of Ishioka in Ibaraki Prefecture, in the northern Kanto region of Japan. Its ruins, dating from the mid seventh century through the site's abandonment around 939, have been protected as a national historic site since 2010.
