Hulunbuir

Hulunbuir, also spelled Hulun Buir, is a prefecture-level city in northeastern Inner Mongolia, China, with its administrative center at Hailar District. The prefecture borders Russia and Mongolia and the Chinese province of Heilongjiang and Hinggan League, and is known for the high steppes of the Hulun Buir grasslands, the Hulun and Buir lakes, and the Khingan mountain range. It is also linguistically diverse, home to Mandarin speakers alongside Mongolian dialects such as Khorchin and Buryat, the Mongolic Daur language, and Tungusic languages including Oroqen and Solon.
