Pinya, also known as Vijayapura, was the capital of the Kingdom of Pinya in what is now Mandalay Region, Myanmar, located near Ava. Founded in 1313 by King Thihathu, it served as the seat of the Pinya dynasty, which ruled central Myanmar for 52 years. The kingdom's Burman population practiced Theravada Buddhism. Power shifted away from Pinya to Ava in 1365, ending its role as a capital.
