Bontoc is a municipality and the capital of Mountain Province, in the Cordillera Administrative Region of the Philippines. Founded in 1908, it had a 2024 census population of 23,466 across 396.10 square kilometers and has served as the historical capital of the entire Cordillera region since the inception of its governance. Home to the Indigenous Bontoc people, the municipality hosts the annual Lang-ay Festival and the Alab petroglyphs, ancient rock carvings tentatively listed by UNESCO.
