Puerto Princesa is a highly urbanized city and the capital of Palawan province, in the Mimaropa region of the Philippines. Founded on March 4, 1872 as Puerto de la Princesa and granted city status in 1970, it had a 2024 census population of 316,384 across 2,381.02 square kilometers, the second largest Philippine city by land area after Davao City and the westernmost city in the country. The city houses the headquarters of the Philippine military Western Command and is among the least densely populated cities in the Philippines.
