Anzhero-Sudzhensk

Anzhero-Sudzhensk is a town in Kemerovo Oblast, Russia, in the Kuznetsk Basin north of the regional capital Kemerovo and east of the Tom River along the Trans-Siberian Railway. It formed from the merger of two settlements, Anzherka and Sudzhenka, and received town status in 1931. The town's population has fallen substantially, from about 108,000 in 1989 to roughly 63,942 by 2025, and it now serves as the administrative center of the Anzhero-Sudzhensky Urban Okrug.
