Mayadin is a town in eastern Syria on the Euphrates River, about 44 kilometers southeast of Deir ez-Zor. It is the capital of Mayadin District within Deir ez-Zor Governorate, and was recorded with a population of 44,028 in the 2004 census, making it the governorate second most populous town.
