Achilleion (Ionia)

Achilleion was a town of ancient Ionia on the western coast of Anatolia, in what is now Turkey. The historian Xenophon records that soldiers from Achilleion took part in a Spartan-led campaign against Persian forces near the Maeander river in 398 BC, and that the town later served as a base for further Spartan operations in the region.
