Aigai, also spelled Aigaiai, was an ancient Greek and later Roman city and bishopric in the Aeolis region of Anatolia. Both Herodotus and Strabo name it as a member of the Aeolian dodecapolis, and it was also the site of an important sanctuary of Apollo. The city reached its height under the Attalid dynasty, which ruled from nearby Pergamon, in the third and second centuries BC.
