Annaea

Annaea, also called Anaea, was a town of ancient Ionia on the coast opposite the island of Samos, though Stephanus of Byzantium placed it in Caria instead. Ancient sources describe it as fortified by Samian exiles after they were displaced from Samos by Androklos of Ephesus, who then used it as a base to muster forces for ten years before reclaiming their island; some Samian exiles also lived there during the Peloponnesian War.
