Batman is a city in southeastern Turkey, the capital of Batman District within Batman Province. It sits on a plateau 540 meters above sea level near the confluence of the Batman River and the Tigris, had a population of 452,157 in 2021, and is populated mainly by Kurds in a part of the country considered Turkish Kurdistan.
