Carene, also known as Carine, was a town of ancient Mysia on the western coast of Anatolia in what is now Turkey. The Persian king Xerxes marched his army through Carene on the route from Sardis to the Hellespont, and the historian Ephorus records that the town sent settlers to help found Ephesus. Its site is tentatively located near Assar Kaya in modern Turkey.
