Cisthene, also spelled Kisthene, was a coastal town in ancient Aeolis, opposite the island of Lesbos in western Mysia, whose mines were a source of copper. Its site is believed to lie near modern Ayvalık on Turkey's northwestern Aegean coast, though its precise location remains uncertain.
