Deris was an ancient Greek city located in Thrace, in the region of the Thracian Chersonese in what is now European Turkey. It is recorded in the Periplus of Pseudo-Scylax as a trading post, or emporium, situated between the river Melas, which flows into the Gulf of Melas, and the town of Cardia. Some scholars have suggested it may be the same as a city called Deiraeus or Deiraios, mentioned by the writer Stephanus of Byzantium and named in an inscription as a member of the Delian League.
