Diyarbakir

The largest Kurdish-majority city in Turkey and administrative center of Diyarbakir Province, on the Tigris river plateau in the country's Southeastern Anatolia Region, where it is the second-largest city. Continually inhabited since around 8,000 BCE, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, its metropolitan province had a population of 1,833,684 as of December 2024, of whom 1,164,940 lived in its built-up area.
