Elaeus, meaning the Olive City, was an ancient Greek city in Thrace on the Thracian Chersonese, at the southern end of the Hellespont near the peninsula southernmost point, in what is now Turkey. Accounts of its founding differ: the geographer Scymnus credits settlers from Ionian Teos, while the Pseudo-Scymnus describes it as an Athenian colony founded by Phorbas.
