Limnae, or Limnai, was an ancient Greek city founded in the seventh century BCE on the Gallipoli peninsula, in what is now Turkey. According to Anaximenes of Miletus it was a colony of Miletus, and it prospered as a seaport before becoming a member of the Delian League, appearing in Athenian tribute lists between 447 and 429 BCE; the city endured into the Roman period. Its exact location was unconfirmed from ancient texts alone until archaeologists identified the site near the Besyol plain in 2018.
