Mukalla, officially the Mukalla City District, is a seaport and the capital city district of Hadhramaut, Yemen's largest governorate. It serves as the primary port for the Hadhramaut region and was briefly the capital of the self-declared Islamic Emirate of Yemen from 2015 to 2016. Its population was approximately 595,000 as of 2023.
