Cuvette Centrale

Wetlands and Tidal Flats

A vast swamp forest at the heart of the Congo River basin, spanning the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and holding one of the largest tropical peatland carbon stores on Earth. Its remoteness has kept it among the least explored wetland regions in the world.
