Lombok Strait

Straits and Channels

A deep strait in the Indonesian archipelago between the islands of Bali and Lombok, forming part of the Wallace Line, the biogeographic boundary separating distinct Asian and Australasian animal populations. Its deep, unobstructed channel makes it an important alternative shipping route to the shallower Strait of Malacca.
