Paks

Eastern Europe

Paks is a small town in Tolna county in southern Hungary, on the right bank of the Danube River about 100 kilometers south of Budapest. Once primarily an agricultural settlement, it is now home to the only nuclear power plant in Hungary, which supplies about half of the country's electricity consumption.
