Csenger is a town in Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg county, in the Northern Great Plain region of eastern Hungary. It is known as one of the poorest towns in Hungary, and in 2023 the Hungarian Prison Service announced it was building a new prison there where inmates would produce metal and wooden furnishings for the facility.
