Nadi is the third-largest city in Fiji, after Suva and Lautoka, on the western coast of the island of Viti Levu. It is home to Nadi International Airport, the country's largest airport and main air gateway despite being far from the capital, and to the Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple, described as the largest Hindu temple in the Southern Hemisphere, reflecting the city's substantial Indo-Fijian population alongside indigenous Fijians and a large transient tourist population. Its city-proper population was about 12,000, with a wider district population of 59,707 at the 2017 census.
