Acrothoum

Southern Europe

Acrothoum, also known as Akrothoon or Acrothoi, was a town of Chalcidice in ancient Macedon, near the tip of the Acte (Akte) peninsula, the easternmost of the three peninsulas of ancient Chalcidice. Thucydides records it among the peninsula cities as home to a mixed, bilingual population of Chalcidians and other peoples including Pelasgians, Bisaltians, Crestonians and Edoni, and Strabo attributes its earliest inhabitants to Pelasgians from Lemnos.
