Epidaurus Limera

Southern Europe

Epidaurus Limera, also spelled Epidauros Limera, was a town on the eastern coast of ancient Laconia, on Cape Maleas at the head of a broad bay. It was founded as a colony of Epidaurus in the Argolid, reportedly at the prompting of the god Asclepius when an Epidaurian ship put in there on its way to Cos. Its founding likely dates to the period when the entire eastern coast of Laconia as far as Cape Maleas fell under the supremacy of Argos.
